Knightstown, Indiana
is a quiet little town nestled in the Blue River Valley in the east-central part of the state. A town that owes its heritage to the Old National Road, Knightstown is filled with historic homes and tree-lined streets, friendly people and hometown charm. The town motto is “Knightstown is a great place to visit and a better place to live.” This is because Knightstown combines the solidness and safety of living in a small Midwestern town with the convenience of several major metropolitan areas that are less than an hour away. Knightstown is the type of place where friends still meet on Friday nights at the high school football and basketball games, and in summer, neighbors gather for an evening of barbecue and camaraderie. Knightstown offers many advantages and attractions – for both visitors and residents, including the 18-hole Royal Highlands Golf Club. In 2006, Royal Highlands was named one of the “Top 25 Indiana Public Golf Courses,” by the Indiana Golf Association tournament players. Situated among beautiful rolling hills, the golf club is located just 1.25 miles south of the I-70 Knightstown exit.
Real Estate in Knightstown is unique, in that one home is not identical to the next, and it's surprisingly affordable compared to other parts of the nation. Historic Victorian homes are available, as well as modern homes. Knightstown schools are excellent and offer a wide variety of educational opportunities. In 2000, 76 students graduated from Knightstown High School, with over $300,000.00 dollars given in scholarships. A new high school was built in 2001 which includes state-of-the-arts facilities and a six hundred seat auditorium. Several major universities are less than an hour away from Knightstown, including Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis. Knightstown is served by three county hospitals.
