Knightstown
is home to the historic Old Hoosier House Bed & Breakfast Inn. Circa 1840, the stately Victorian home was owned by the Elisha Scovell family, who were friends of President Martin Van Buren. The inn sits on eight wooded acres and has a deck that overlooks a pond on the fourth hole of an adjacent golf course. Paddle boat rentals are available and a laundry and camp store is one site. The Kenny Irwin Jr. Memorial Campground is located in New Castle and was founded by the Kenny Irwin Jr. Foundation. Putt-putt, golf, basketball, a tube playground, swimming, canoeing, paddle boating and arcade games are all available at the Kenny Irwin Jr. Campground. Spring Valley Campground in Middletown contains several scenic lakes with cabins and over 100 campsites from primitive to full hook-ups. Spring Valley is less than an hour from downtown Indianapolis, Muncie and New Castle.
